By default, iDrum assigns the next unused MIDI note when a new channel is added. However, you can change the note that a channel responds to using the Channel Inspector drawer. We call this process 'Mapping' or 'Re-Mapping' the channel's MIDI note.
1. If the Channel Inspector Drawer isn't open, open it with the 'Info' button in the master section.
2. Select the channel you want to re-map.
3. In the Channel Inspector Drawer, click the MIDI note pop-up button and select the note you want to trigger this channel.
TIP: You can 'layer' channels by assigning them to the same MIDI note. This can make for some really slammin' kick drum sounds. Try loading a big sub kick in one channel and a nice tight percussive kick on another. Then assign them to the same MIDI note.
4. Alternately, you can have iDrum 'Auto-Map' the currently selected channel. Click the 'Auto-Map' button in the Channel Inspector, and iDrum will assign the next note you press on your MIDI keyboard to the channel. This can be useful when you don't know (or don't care) what MIDI note corresponds with what key.
